The Beginning
Many of us who do a lot of writing or speaking have one section in their material that always causes a stumbling block in the flow of their sharing and clarity. It might be how to close or perhaps it’s the central point which leads into a proposed solution.
My stumbling point is always the first sentence. Without that opening, nothing flows. As clear as the core and major points might be, the very beginning is always a struggle.
How to open the door … where does it begin!
Our Voice
In preparation for our upcoming May, 2025 class, Finding Your Voice, the major topics to be included were duly outlined––except that illusive opening.
Where and when might we lose our voice?
Why does its energy and our confident focus waver?
What creates our vocal identity?
Are these answers – like most aspects of life – different for each person?
Our Story
I suggest a major beginning point is the story we tell ourselves.
How do we see ourselves?
And what voice do we use when we talk to ourselves?
Are we critical or encouraging to ourselves?
Inner Voice
Consider whether our outer voice is similar to our inner voice. Let’s pause and truly listen. We might want to journal or make some notes of how we see ourselves.
What are your thoughts about your own inner story and Finding Your Voice? A convenient Comments section is below for your convenience.
