Can Pendulums Tell Time?

My personal use of pendulums has spanned years, but 2024 has found me turning more and more to this trusty yes-no tool. And the more I use it, the more that “trusty” descriptive increases. But Can Pendulums Tell Time?

Reminder:  Previous Blogs

You might want to review the information about pendulums already available in a set of February, 2024 Blogs. They are archived in this Blog section under “Intuition”.

Providing Timing or Dates

Let’s have some fun exploring the use of pendulums outside their typical use which is  “yes” or “no” answers to questions. We’ll see if they can tell time.

To try this test, all we need in addition to a favorite pendulum is a short, wide-mouth glass – such as a highball glass. As beginners, choose a question we can ultimately confirm its correct answer.

With practice, relaxing ourselves to focus, and having a concise question, we can receive responses providing dates or timing. When working with a pendulum, always keep your hand steady so you are not impacting its swing. It needs to respond on its own – not from our assistance.

As an example, we will seek the date for a friend’s birthday. Let’s call her Joanie. First, we ask for the month. When that is identified, we request the day, and finally – if desired – the year.  Here are the details:

  • Lower your pendulum into the empty glass so that it hangs quietly halfway into the glass. The holding hand remains steady with elbow on table but leaning from elbow so pendulum hangs straight down

  • The question can be stated aloud or silently, but stay focused on the question and your eyes on the pendulum.     “Is Joanie’s birthday in January?”

  • Allow the pendulum to begin swinging on its own, giving it time to reach the fullness of its movement for January.

  • If it hits the side of the glass, Joanie’s birthday is in January.

  • If it does not hit the side of the glass, move to “Is Joanie’s birthday in February?”

  • Continue working through the months in this way until the pendulum hits the glass.  You will notice as you get closer to the correct month, the pendulum’s movement increases.

  • Using June as the month given to us by the pendulum, we then ask “Is Joanie’s birthday June 1?”

  • Work through the numbers until the pendulum hits the inside of the glass.

  • Repeat if you also seek the year.

  • To confirm, ask Joanie her birthdate.

Future Events

The same process is used if looking for the date when an event will occur. Keep in mind that other people who are involved in the event have freewill and can decide or do something that can ultimately have an impact, but the pendulum is still providing a potential date.

If something occurs that speeds up or slows the event’s unfolding, return for a revised date from the pendulum. Once the event has occurred, compare with the pendulum information.

Have fun. The more we do this type of inquiry, the better we become. I began with just a 50% success rate but have improved to 75% as of this writing. 100% anyone?
