This color practice was recently included in our monthly Energy Sharing newsletter. So many readers have responded to it, it seems wise to memorialize it in the ongoing Blog section of SubtleEnergyAlchemy.com. Feel free to share it with family and friends.
Getting Started
Until you are familiar with this simple practice, it is suggested you are safely located in your home when doing it. The below begins with closing your eyes. After a while, you might find that you can do this quieting and centering method with open eyes, but always in a safe environment.
REMINDER: Check with your personal practitioners before beginning a meditation or visualization practice.
Color Quieting
This can be done seated or standing.
Sit or stand with your feet shoulder width apart. If seated, feet will be flat on floor.
Let hands hang loosely by your side if standing or resting in your lap while seated.
Close your eyes
Take a slow deep breath, slowly exhaling after each. Let your body relax with each exhale. This also helps relax your mind. Maximum number of slow deep breaths: 3
Set your intent to allow one color to appear in your mind. Let it rise naturally
Once a color appears: visualize a room or space in nature, with or without walls
Fill that space or room with the color
See yourself entering the room or space filled with the color
Allow color to swirl around you, removing your concerns or fears
Enjoy its feeling for as long as color remains
When color begins to fade, see yourself stepping out of the room or space.
Extend gratitude for the color and its gift to you.
When ready, open your eyes. How has your feeling changed after being with the color?
A presenting color may differ each time, or it may be the same or similar shade of the same color. As you experience different colors, you may find that each feels unlike any of the others.
SUGGESTION REGARDING COLORS: If any of the following colors arise, it is recommended that you release them by opening your eyes, taking a deep slow breath, and beginning again:
Bright Red
Grey
Brown
Black
